Does my flat roof actually need to be replaced, or can it be repaired?
Often repaired, not replaced. If the ply sheets and decking are still sound, patch repairs plus a fresh recoat can add 10 to 15 years of life. Replacement is only necessary if the underlayment is delaminating across large areas, the deck is rotted in multiple spots, or repeated patches keep failing. Why is my coating peeling only a few years after it was installed?
Almost always because the previous installer skipped the emulsifying primer between the hot-mop ply sheets and the acrylic coating. Oil-based and water-based materials don’t bond without a transition primer. DSR always applies TRC 297-X or 295-G primer between ply and coating.
How do you find a leak when the stain inside my house isn’t below the roof damage?
